International Students  
ENROLMENT

We welcome enrolment inquiries from prospective fee paying international students. Howick Intermediate provides resources and programmes to assist overseas students to develop English oracy and literacy.

As signatories to ‘The Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students,’ we ensure that our students are well informed, safe and properly cared for. Howick Intermediate has agreed to be bound by the code of practice published by the Ministry of Education. Howick Intermediate has been verified as a provider to enrol students in year 7 and 8. Copies of the code are available on request from Howick Intermediate or online from www.minedu.govt.nz. A copy of the code can also be made available in a number of languages. We accept both Short and Long Term Students

AGENTS

We welcome reputable Education Agents to enrol students and have an agency contract that may be entered into after a meeting with Joan Clansey, the International Coordinator. WICK INTERMEDIATE ERO REPORT

ESOL
- English for Speakers of other Languages

Specialist teachers provide expert tuition to assist students who come from a language background other than English. The ESOL programme is designed to scaffold students and enable them to participate in the classroom inquiry-based programme.
