Howick Intermediate School

Bus Information

The school provides buses for all students, please contact the school for more information on 534 3922 or email admin@howickint.school.nz.

During the year a number of other cost increases, such as road user charges, vehicle licensing and other suppliers increases, have been absorbed by the school where possible. Unfortunately these  increases can no longer be absorbed and it is now necessary to adjust costs accordingly:

Pink, Yellow and Red Bus tickets from $27.50 to $28.50 Green Bus tickets from $30.00  to $31.00   Existing bus tickets will still be valid for use after 1 October.

Bus Transport

Outlined below are the key pieces of information that we hope will assist you to take advantage of this service.

Key Points:

1. Please note that this is not a public service. Buses are provided by the school and the school reserves the right to ban students from the bus if behaviour is unacceptable.

2. It is important that we maintain loadings at the correct level. This helps to ensure the safety of students. Students must only use the bus that they are assigned to. If they attempt to use a different bus they will be banned from any bus.

3. A number of students are transported by this service. To keep costs down, the buses will complete two runs each before and after school. It is important that students only use the pick up point and bus they have been assigned to. Any change can only be approved by the school.

4. We have gone to considerable trouble to assist students and parents to understand what is expected. If a student chooses to act outside of the rules they will not travel on the bus.

Rules:

1. Unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated. Students who act inappropriately will be banned from travelling on the bus and will have to organize their own transport.

2. Students must have their own ticket each time they travel. These are purchased from the school office. Students who do not have a ticket will not be transported.

3. The school does not accept responsibility for students who attempt to travel on the bus but are not able to meet the expectations or are unable to make payment.

4. Students must travel on the bus they are assigned to unless a change has been authorized by the school. They are expected to follow the instructions of the drive r or a member of staff concerning all issues concerning safe and well behaved travel.

5. All of the school expectations, policies and procedures apply both on the bus and in the street before and after travelling on a bus.

6. Students must not leave the school grounds once they arrive at school.

7. There is no eating or the use of cell phones allowed on the buses.
