The chance to see an explosive science show was just too good an opportunity to pass up.  

Last Monday 120 enthusiastic budding scientists and some very willing parents travelled to Nanogirl's Explosive Science show. What a treat they were in for! Packed with humour from a magician who wanted to do magic, Nanogirl (aka Michelle Dickinson) disproved all of his tricks with science.

Students saw optical illusions, heard loud, louder and loudest bangs as balloons were popped by long reaching fire torches and gasped with horror as Test Dummy 20.1 lost her head to a bowling ball pendulum! Nanogirl lay on a bed of nails while her bumbling magician friend tried his best to break a piece of plywood placed on her stomach by hitting it with a long handled hammer. They were glad she emerged unscathed and completely untouched by even one nail prick.
